Pedestal Fan

Please read these instructions carefully before using this unit:

  • Check that the voltage (230V) printed on the rating plate on the back of the motor unit corresponds with that in the office
  • Place the Pedestal Fan on a secure, flat surface and away from the surface edge
  • Do not use the Pedestal Fan in an open window as rain maybe drawn into the mechanism and cause an electrical fault
  • Ensure that the mains lead connected to the Pedestal Fan has been fully unwound

Using the Pedestal Fan
Control Buttons
Press the buttons to control the speed of the fan blades, press ‘0’ to switch the fan off
Height Adjustment Ring
The height of the fan can be adjusted up or down by twisting to loosen the height adjustment ring, lifting or lowering the fan and re-tightening it again before using the fan
Power Cord Supply
Insert the plug into the mains wall supply
Carry Handle
Turn the fan off and unplug it before using the handle to reposition it
Clutch Knob
Pull down to allow the fan to oscillate gently from side to side, push down to stop
Adjustment Knob
The direction of the air flow can be adjusted up or down by loosening the adjustment knob. Repositioning the head of the fan and re-tightening the knob again before using the fan

Maintenance
Cleaning the Pedestal Fan

  1. Turn the Pedestal Fan off and remove the plug from the wall socket. Allow the fan blades to stop moving
  2. Clean the grilles and the plastic parts with mild soap, a damp cloth and a sponge
  3. Make sure the cleaned parts are thoroughly dried before re-assembling
  4. Do not use abrasive type cleaners or solvents on any part of the Pedestal Fan
  5. Never immerse the Pedestal Fan in water or any kind of liquid

Safety

  • Never insert fingers, pencils or any other objects through the guard  when the fan is turning
  • Turn the Pedestal Fan off and unplug from the mains before moving it from one place to another. Carry the Pedestal Fan by the handle at the top of the grilles only. Never lift the Pedestal Fan by placing your fingers inside the grille or near the fan blades
  • Turn the Pedestal Fan off and unplug from the mains before removing the grilles for cleaning
  • Close supervision is necessary when using the Pedestal Fan near children or persons suffering from any physical impairment
  • Position the mains lead so that it does not overhang a working surface or touch hot or sharp objects as this may cause a safety hazard
  • Always unplug from the mains when not in use
  • The Pedestal Fan must never be put in water, used in a bathroom or near any source of water. Do not use outdoors
  • The mains lead of this Pedestal Fan is not replaceable by the user. If it is damaged it must be replaced by Midland Cool 0800 440 444 or a qualified person
  • If your Pedestal Fan has been dropped or damaged it should not be used until it has been inspected by Midland Cool 0800 440 444
